The Ballad of Crown Point Bridge

‘The Ballad of Crown Point Bridge’ is a sonic artwork created with the people and water of Leeds, with artist Amy Sharrocks and sound designer Tom Hackley. The piece is part of the Compass Festival 2021 and opens to the public from June 7th.

As part of the development of the piece, Ignite ran a workshop series called the Art of Sound in October 2020. Young people involved in the workshop worked with Amy Sharrocks and Tom Hackley on creating their own soundscapes inspired by water. They also got to take part in recording the people and sounds of Crown Point Bridge with the artist. Their work has been incorporated into the final piece.
